a doodle a did in my spare time earlier this year. i had planned on colouring it - but i have no spare time now

this is a piece that’s been sitting on my drawing board for about 2yrs now! i finally finished colouring it up a few weeks back. it was done as a pin-up for b. clay moore’s series hawaiian dick. it never made it into the series as i was too busy to wrap it up at the time. it may appear in a collection one day - till then you can peruse it here.

speaking of clay, there be more news involving him next week!

retreading on a previous post today. had a quiet moment the other day and i decided to add some colour to my j.bone template inspired ursula andres-ish pin-up girl.

so sometime ago mr. j. bone passed out a couple pinup girl templates for his fellow artists to doodle over. the first one i did some time ago and posted it as ‘my first nudie girl drawin’…’ down below, though now that i think of it i should repost said piece as i’ve added a dash of colour to it since. anyway, i was itching to draw something the other day, found the second template and next thing i know i’m turning it into a christmas card!

so, to all you beautiful people out there have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and i’ll see you in the new year!

well after a crazy couple of months the degrassi graphic novel that took up the better part of my life is finished. i’ve recieved my comp copies and am more than happy with the final result!

degrassi: extra credit V2 will be available in stores on november 21st in canada and january 2nd 2007 in the united states.

just so people aren’t confused, according to articles posted on the web i am to illustrate volume 4 of the degrassi: extra credit series. due to various reasons this won’t be happening. my only contribution to volume 4 is this bit of promo art showcasing marco…

earlier in september at the fanexpo 2006 i took my first crack at drawing superman. the piece was done for eddy choi’s sketchbook showcasing the kryptonian superhero from smallville. eddy was nice enough to scan the piece and send me a copy! my patented 10¢ embelishment later and it’s ready for blog viewing…

loved this dynamic duo as a kid! if you’ve been keeping track of the R.A.I.D. 90min draw-offs then you’ve seen the b&w version of th this piece already. so to snazz it up a bit for my blog i polished it up with a “10¢ colour job.”

so many moons ago mr. j. bone handed off some pinup girl templates for myself and a few friends to doodle our own girls over top. well the other cats finished theirs by the following week. me i took much longer cause, well, i’m really good at procrastinating…

here’s what i came up with.

the 90 min sketch-off! from the other day was mr. dredd. you can find the inked version on the RAID blog already, so for this post i added what i like to call the “10¢ colour job.”

my new years resolution this year was to start each day by doing warm up sketches since 99% of the time whatever i’m doodling is work related. needless to say that didn’t happen.

well, yesterday i was perusing the blogs of a couple folks whose work i admire; mike weringo and eric canete. both these gentlemen keep producing great amounts of fantastic work for their respective blogs. so, frustrated with myself, i finally decided to get off my keister and follow eric canete’s template of the 90min pinup. i don’t think i’ll be able to do this daily yet, but hopefully soon.

the topic suggestion of showcasing two memebers of alpha flight was made by steve manale. in the end the image took me 105min, which ain’t so bad.

quite like the the way this one came together.
