spellgame: behind the magic

sorry for the cheesy title. had to be done :)

thought i’d share a little of the process of spellgame with you.

i am approaching my run on spellgame in a very loose style compared to my classic roleplaying game work. the reasons behind this are three fold; first i just wanted to break out of my mold and try something drastically different - and in that respect it’s been quite refreshing. the second; i thought the loose sketch like quality would convey the personality and the tone of the book quite well. the final reason; speed - unfortunately this is something i had to take into account as spellgame is a monthly book - and doing the full gamut on the art requires a lot of work in a short amout of time.

happy thanksgiving

full on turkey and wine. feeling sleepy.

so on that note (what a terrible segue) here is a cover done for the mutants & masterminds rpg - for a book titled ‘lockdown.’

slowly nodding off…
